Booking

If you have booked online through an external site, adjust your booking through the site you booked with. Make sure to check our Cancellation Policy first, to ensure enough notice is given for any nights cancelled. If you booked directly with us or through our website, get in touch with the hostel.

If you have booked online through an external site, cancel your booking through the site you booked with. All other bookings must be cancelled in writing, directly with the hostel. Please read our Cancellation Policy first.

Although you are not asked to provide ID in order to create a booking, you will not be checked in without providing one valid form of government-issued photo ID, and your booking will be cancelled, subject to our Cancellation Policy.

No. You must have a valid credit or debit card in order to make a booking.

We require written confirmation, alongside a copy of ID from the cardholder. Contact the hostel directly for more information.

Yes, you can pay in cash when you arrive at the hostel. We still require a valid credit or debit card on file to secure every booking.

The deposit will be charged in advance to the card on file, immediately after we receive your booking. See our Deposit Policy for further information.

Our team manually check each booking once it’s been created online. If we’re super busy, this process may take a little longer. In the case that the email address provided is invalid, we may not be able to get in contact with you if there’s an issue with your booking. Check your junk mail, then please get in contact with the hostel.

You sure can! Booking extensions all depend on availability, so let us know early.

For groups of 8 or more, contact the hostel directly. For smaller groups, you can make the booking online or directly with the hostel. See our Group Bookings page for more information.

Yes (for all Sydney locations), but they will need to stay in a private room. Each underage guest must provide a parental consent form, accompanied by the ID of the signing parent or guardian and a valid credit card to secure the booking.

For our Melbourne location, under 18’s cannot stay at the hostel without the supervision of an adult.

Yes, there is an age limit. We only accept guests up to the age of 35 years.

checking in and out

Check in is from 2pm. Our reception closes at 9pm, so if you plan to arrive after 9pm please make sure to let us know in advance, in order to arrange a late check in for you.

No. Our check out time is strictly 11am for everyone. Unfortunately, we can’t allow you to stay in the room longer as we need to get it cleaned and ready for the next guest.

Yes, you can store your bags in our luggage room before check-in and after check-out (same day storage only). Contact the hostel directly for specific information.

Yes. Please let us know in advance so we can arrange a late check-in for you.

room information

We do have certain rooms with disabled access, depending on availability. Let us know before you book, so we can make sure it’s available.

No. Due to health and safety regulations, we cannot allow guests to bring their own linen, sleeping bags or blankets. We provide fresh and clean linen, blankets and pillows free of charge.

Every dorm bed has a locker provided. You will need to bring your own padlock.

All our private rooms come with complimentary towels. Guests in dorms can hire a towel for a small deposit. This deposit is refundable on return of the towel.

All our private rooms contain a hair dryer. Guests in dorms can hire a hair dryer for a small deposit. This deposit is refundable on return of the hair dryer.

Friends and family are welcome in our lobby areas, but we can only allow checked-in guests past this point.

Facilities and services

Yes, we will hold mail for all in-house guests. It is your responsibility to collect it. Mail for checked-out guests will be returned to sender, unless you let us know you are coming back to collect it. If you want to have mail sent before you arrive, let the hostel know it’s coming so we hold it for you. We take no responsibility for lost mail.

Each hostel has a communal kitchen, where you can store food and make meals. Each hostel has a communal laundry, where you can do your washing for a small fee. We have communal areas including outdoor courtyards and indoor chill-out spaces. See each hostel page for more information.

Unfortunately we don’t provide meals at our hostels. However, all of our hostels are located within easy walking distance to cafes and food stores to find something to eat.

The Village Melbourne has organised events that are affiliated with its bar and nightclub. These events include pool comps, trivia and karaoke nights.
Our Sydney hostels do not have organised activities. The Village Glebe has a pool table, and our Glebe, Surry Hills and Bondi locations offer $5 gym passes, which includes yoga, pilates, boxing and more.
